Which color are you immediately drawn to?

Since I found this via Pinterest many of you may have already seen it. But for those of you who have not,  it's   Paper Source's Colorscope Chart.  I was drawn to the blues - mostly pool or lake .  There are definitely some qualities in each that would describe me. What about you?  Is it right on, or completely off??

Spring Is All Around

Flowers are appearing all around in S. Carolina! You can definitely tell it is spring! There are many times when I miss being in the west, but I am constantly amazed at the variety of tree and bushes that are blooming right now - it is gorgeous! Speaking of spring... I love these spring-like interiors with their pops of pinks, yellows, and greens. via source via I would love to just pop some of these amazing cupcakes into my mouth!  Actually, maybe they are too pretty to eat!  Wow, those must have taken some time!  If you would like to attempt making them click the link below. source Is Spring appearing in your 'neck of the woods?'

Decorating Our Rental Home

Last week I showed you the color scheme I decided on for my master bedroom.  Well, I have some progress to share with you! First off, let me show you where we started.  Pretty blah, right?? Things improved a tad when I got new bedding at Christmas.   You may be thinking, 'Wait...it's a different room..."  Yes - we moved.   Also as a side note, you can see this room has some design challenges with that off-center window. The king-sized shams really left something to be desired....  So, using the plain white shams as a pattern, I made new ones with a white and navy striped fabric.  The backs are solid navy with an opening to remove the pillows when needed. Next, I made a couple of 18" throw pillows with a down fill.  I purchased the fabrics at a local fabric store.   You may have noticed the lamps in the previous photos.  Guess where they are from?  Lowes!  Guess how much they cost?  $45!!  I call that a steal! So, that's w

Parade of Outdoor Pillows

It's been hitting 80 degrees here in S. Carolina and I seem to have the great outdoors on my mind!  Once you have your patio furniture out, wouldn't it be nice to soften everything up with an assortment of outdoor throw pillows? 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5  - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9

My Master Bedroom Update

Awhile back, I posted about picking out colors for my master bedroom.  There were two different directions I was thinking of going.  To see the post click here .  Well, I decided on a color scheme - Navy, Aqua, Green, with pops of purples/berry tones. I already purchased the two green fabrics (for throw pillows) along with the navy striped fabric (to recover two king-sized shams).  The sewing has began, and more pictures to follow! Thrifty Finds - you don't always have to spend a lot of money!

Here in the South there are a lot of antique/thrit/flea markets that you don't really find in the West - where I'm from.  I could just wonder through these shops for hours envisioning all the possibilities on how something could be refurbished. This past week I came across a few items that I couldn't pass up, and surprisingly my husband was right on board! These cute and comfy chairs were priced at $95 - great price already, right?...but then marked 25% off!  I used to work in a contemporary/modern furniture store in Utah and I sold very similar chairs for $800-$1000.  As soon as I spotted these, I knew they were mine!  They seem to be in great condition, they just need a fresh new upholstery & possibly the arms re-stained/painted.  They will most likely go in the office/playroom (multi-functional :) room. Is this not a great end table?  I love the straight leg - parson style!  It's a 30" sq. end table and will go in the family room next to my s

Pillow Make-Over

This past week I finally got around to recovering my pillows I told you about. As a reminder, here are the sad - sad before pillows.  The fringe on that back pillow makes me cringe! And here are the happy - happy after pillows! I really am quite pleased with how they turned out.  It's amazing how they spice up my sofa that I have to work with. This room needs a lot of work, later on I'll tell you more about and my plans:)
