I have been dreaming lately about how I would redo my master bedroom. There is a pretty good chance that we may be moving in the next few months, so I just might get that chance :) Shh!!...don't tell my husband.. actually, he did mention we needed new bedding... :)

So, I have been debating on what color scheme I would go with. I have always been drawn to warm and cozy colors. Maybe that is because I am a 'summer girl' and love the heat. On the other hand, I like the relaxing feeling of cool colors, like light lilacs and soft blues.

I think I came up with a compromise between the two. Here is the vision floating around in my head...

    I think this looks great. It makes me think that that I could actually do something cute with my tiny master bedroom.

    I just used that lotus chandelier in a nursery. So fun to see it in a grown-up space, too! Chic Rooms

Sitting Room Design

 Hi there!  Today I am sharing a front living/sitting room that I am currently working on with a client. The process began by meeting at my client's home and seeing the space in person.  During the consultation, my client was able to tell me what she used the room for, how much seating she wanted, the look she wanted to achieve, her thoughts on possible color schemes, and what she envisioned for the space.  I asked some additional questions, and took pictures & measurements.  With those measurements I created a 2D and 3D floorplan for furniture placement, and then got her approval before proceeding any further. Once the basic floorplan was signed off on, I then began finding furniture pieces and decor for the space.  I came up 2 different options that are very similar but with a few varying pieces.  From those 2 she picked which one she liked best.  She chose the top picture! My Favorite Way to Hide Toys in My Family Room

We were is desperate need of something to hide toys in our family room.  In addition, I really needed something to go along the back our loveseat.  Below, is basically the view you get when you walk into our home.  I didn't want people to walk in & the first thing they see is the bare back of our loveseat. One day, I was meandering around TJ Maxx & spotted this cute storage ottoman.  Right away, I knew it needed to come home with me! It has proved to be a fantastic purchase for us!  My kids can easily get toys in & out of it.  It is also a very convenient place to sit & put your shoes on before heading out the door.  In addition, it can easily be moved around to the main sitting area if extra seating is ever needed. You KNOW you have made a good purchase when your husband has said TWICE, "Melissa, buying that ottoman was a really good idea."  Need some other ideas on how to hide toys?   Cute baskets/bo...
