My Skirted Sofa

Yesterday, on the Nate Berkus Show, they showed a room makeover where the skirt was removed from a sofa to reveal the legs underneath.  It looked pretty good.  'What a great idea!" I thought to myself,  "I have a skirted sofa not my style that I could try the idea out on!" Here is my sofa as it currently stands: Ya...NOT so cute, right???   There are 4 things I do not love about this sofa: A - The skirt B - The rolled arms C - The puffy back cushions D - The upholstery color There are two good things about this sofa: A - It's comfortable B - Because of it, we have somewhere to sit! On good ole' Photoshop I did a mock up of what it would like if I removed the skirt... ...Not as great as I had hoped.  It's possibly okay (maybe) from the front,  but from the sides the beefy sofa just looks to heavy for those weak-looking, ugly legs. This idea may work for you if you have nice wooden legs to reveal, but if your sofa is l...

Gender Neutral Nurseries/Kids Rooms

I have a good friend who likes to decorate her kids rooms as gender neutral so that she doesn't have to redecorate for each child that is born.  If you are very practical like my friends is, you may be interested in doing the same thing. Below are some different color schemes that can be used for either a boy or girl. Primary Colors via Green + White source Turquoise + Yellow via Green + Turquoise + Burnt Orange via Yellow + Grey via Neutral Colors via White (mostly) source These pictures really just scratch the surface, I found so many different examples that I could have used in this post.  Hopefully, these ideas get your wheels turning if you don't know where to start:)

WORDS

Don't you just love quotes that make you laugh/think/cry/ say,"that is sooo me!"  I do! Today, I was browsing through some of the quotes I have pinned on pinterest .  Here are a few I love: “We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are.” Marjorie Hinckley Hope your day has been great! To see the sources of the quotes click here .

My Master Bedroom

For Christmas, my husband gave me a new comforter and sheets - exactly what I wanted (Let's be honest I picked them out:)  While this is not the greatest picture of them, here they are.  Turquoise sheets and comforter with a white duvet cover (not pictured).  Side note: if you need a comforter at an awesome price this comforter is amazing!  We love it! Why these colors? Well, ever since I was a little girl I have been a fish, I LOVE to go swimming.  So this color scheme fits me perfectly.  Every night when I climb into bed I feel like I am getting into a swimming pool.  I feel right at home. source I want to add a few other color accents to the room.  Here are the two different directions I am thinking: -Turquoise with accents of orange, pinks (just a little husband, don't worry:), and greens-  I asked my husband what he thought of the below fabric, and he actually said he'd be okay with it.  All because oran...
