'UGLY' Show - & - Tell

Aubrey from All Things Bright and Beautiful is here to show off
a little bit of  'UGLY' in her home.
Let's get this show on the road!

Hidey ho, neighbors!
It's Aubrey from All Things Bright and Beautiful here to dish on the UGLIES that can be found in my home.
*GASP*
There are *uglies* in my home???
You betcha.
Feast your eyes on these lovelies:
There are *six* of these bad boys. Totally awesome.
They are hand-me-downs from my parents and they are probably at least 15 years old...missing bars from the bottoms, scratches, stains, dents...you name it! And with two little ones around, you can bet they are getting more and more appealing every day.
Can you hear the sarcasm there?
And even if they weren't old and banged up...then there would be that lovely fabric on them.
At least it hides the food stains well, right? RIGHT????
If I could replace those fuglies with something else right this minute, it would be a really great chair with some interesting detailing for the backs and a fabulous fabric for my tushie to rest on.
Maybe something a little like these:
*SIGH*
So much fabulousness, so little time (c:
I'm pretty sure those first ones are my favesies...the detailing is just insane and so gorgeous...just add some fabulously fun fabric on the cushion and I would be one happy camper!
Thanks for letting me dish on one of the ugliest things in my house, Melissa!
Wait a second...does that sound wrong to anyone else??? I might have just gotten tricked (c:

Ooh!  I think my favorite chair was the white one with the diamond-like back.  All of them are fabulous though, that Aubrey has great taste and a great sense of humor -  you can just hear it coming through in her words - I love it!  Make sure you go say hello at  All Things Bright & Beautiful!

My Favorite Way to Hide Toys in My Family Room

We were is desperate need of something to hide toys in our family room.  In addition, I really needed something to go along the back our loveseat.  Below, is basically the view you get when you walk into our home.  I didn't want people to walk in & the first thing they see is the bare back of our loveseat. One day, I was meandering around TJ Maxx & spotted this cute storage ottoman.  Right away, I knew it needed to come home with me! It has proved to be a fantastic purchase for us!  My kids can easily get toys in & out of it.  It is also a very convenient place to sit & put your shoes on before heading out the door.  In addition, it can easily be moved around to the main sitting area if extra seating is ever needed. You KNOW you have made a good purchase when your husband has said TWICE, "Melissa, buying that ottoman was a really good idea."  Need some other ideas on how to hide toys?   Cute baskets/bo...

Project Reveal: Church Foyer Makeover

I apologize for being a little MIA on this blog lately!  Life has been busy lately working with local clients, my family visiting, & working on our newly purchased home. Recently, I completed a project that I would like to share.  A local church hired me to help them redecorate their foyer area.  They wanted something new, fresh & modern that would go along with the existing paint, flooring, and lighting. Here are the BEFORE photos: This is what it looks like now!
