Lately, you may have noticed a lot of hype in the design & blogging world about STENCILS.  It is a fantastic cost- effective way to get a wallpaper look without spending a ton of money.  Now, don't stop reading if you rent and aren't able to paint your walls.  Stencils can be used on a wide variety of surfaces such as furniture, cabinet fronts, pillows, draperies, canvases (like I did for this project) and the list goes on and on!!

    Do I have to specify just one??! I'm a sucker for damask, so they have lots that I love! If I had to choose just one, large fabric damask I guess but I love them all!

    My favorite is the Damask!!! I loooove all the damask! In a tasteful manner of course. Too much damask can be a bit much. But I love it :)

    Entirely inspired by your collection. I like the Moroccan lace, like other stencils, you can leave out some of the bottom repeating sections...looks like drapery.

My Favorite Way to Hide Toys in My Family Room

We were is desperate need of something to hide toys in our family room.  In addition, I really needed something to go along the back our loveseat.  Below, is basically the view you get when you walk into our home.  I didn't want people to walk in & the first thing they see is the bare back of our loveseat. One day, I was meandering around TJ Maxx & spotted this cute storage ottoman.  Right away, I knew it needed to come home with me! It has proved to be a fantastic purchase for us!  My kids can easily get toys in & out of it.  It is also a very convenient place to sit & put your shoes on before heading out the door.  In addition, it can easily be moved around to the main sitting area if extra seating is ever needed. You KNOW you have made a good purchase when your husband has said TWICE, "Melissa, buying that ottoman was a really good idea."  Need some other ideas on how to hide toys?   Cute baskets/boxes , wall pockets (for books

Elegant Dining Room Makeover

I had the pleasure of helping a local client decorate their dining room.  The space was pretty plain and lacked personality.  I knew it had possibilities with those tall ceilings and beautiful arched windows. (Before) My client was very budget conscientious so I did not go over board on decor.  I was very thoughtful of the decor I suggested and made sure the items we put in the space really made a 'wow' statement. This is the mood board I put together for my client to show the decor that I thought would look gorgeous in the space. My clients' liked everything, with exception of the chandelier.  They were not in love with the one I selected and it was a little too expensive.  As a replacement, I found this chandelier that I think was even more perfect for the space. So without further adieu, here are the pictures of the completed space! Would you like help making your home a place you love to be??
