Happy Powder Bathrooms

Wallpaper in a powder bathroom makes me happy- seriously.

Look at these photos - don't they make you just smile a little?

Their are so many drop-dead-gorgeous wallpapers these days. Occasionally, I suggest wallpaper to a client and sometimes they get a worried look on their face. I usually have reassure them that I am not talking about their grandma's wallpaper from the 50's!

I say, if you need an inexpensive way to dress up a blah bathroom, wallpaper is a great way to go. I promise (if done right) yow will feel happy every time you walk in :)

    I totally agree! Bathrooms, powder rooms, & laundry rooms are great spaces to use wallpaper. Allows you to be more adventurous!

My Favorite Way to Hide Toys in My Family Room

We were is desperate need of something to hide toys in our family room.  In addition, I really needed something to go along the back our loveseat.  Below, is basically the view you get when you walk into our home.  I didn't want people to walk in & the first thing they see is the bare back of our loveseat. One day, I was meandering around TJ Maxx & spotted this cute storage ottoman.  Right away, I knew it needed to come home with me! It has proved to be a fantastic purchase for us!  My kids can easily get toys in & out of it.  It is also a very convenient place to sit & put your shoes on before heading out the door.  In addition, it can easily be moved around to the main sitting area if extra seating is ever needed. You KNOW you have made a good purchase when your husband has said TWICE, "Melissa, buying that ottoman was a really good idea."  Need some other ideas on how to hide toys?   Cute baskets/boxes , wall pockets (for books

Elegant Dining Room Makeover

I had the pleasure of helping a local client decorate their dining room.  The space was pretty plain and lacked personality.  I knew it had possibilities with those tall ceilings and beautiful arched windows. (Before) My client was very budget conscientious so I did not go over board on decor.  I was very thoughtful of the decor I suggested and made sure the items we put in the space really made a 'wow' statement. This is the mood board I put together for my client to show the decor that I thought would look gorgeous in the space. My clients' liked everything, with exception of the chandelier.  They were not in love with the one I selected and it was a little too expensive.  As a replacement, I found this chandelier that I think was even more perfect for the space. So without further adieu, here are the pictures of the completed space! Would you like help making your home a place you love to be??
