Isn't Organization Beautiful...

I am not a master of organization, but here my tips for bringing a little order to chaos :)

* Have a place for EVERYTHING.

* If you haven't used it in the past year, get rid of it!

* If you buy a NEW item - throw away/donate an OLD item.

* Find inexpensive and stylish boxes/containers/jars etc. at Ross, TJ Maxx, & thrift shops. My favorite website for organizational items is - more expensive than the stores just mentioned but they have some really cool things to make your life easier!

* And my final piece of advice - one of my favorite quotes:

  1. Hello Melissa, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Can I just say that organization IS beautiful. I lust after organized pics likes the ones above. My closet is the only place that I truly keep in line and it makes me smile every time I see it. Also, the William Morris quote is one of my favorites! I even have it in he footer of my blog like a mission statement. Looking forward to seeing more of your blog!

  2. I wish I could say I was half as organized as any one of these photos. Organized spaces are beautiful, I try, but usually fail miserably at keeping things organized around the house.

Thanks for linking up to mix and mingle this week!

  3. Oh you hit my weak spot...organizing is definitely a passion of mine...or an obsession, whatev. (c: Glad you came to visit so I could find your fun blog, I think I'm gonna like it here!

How to Accessorize an End Table or Nightstand

Stuck on how to accessorize an end table or nightstand?
There are so many ways to style/accessorize a table, and really there are no rules. However, if you aren't sure where to begin below is a list of basic items to use that you can't go wrong with:
*A lamp * Artwork/mirror *Books * Floral/branches

In addition, here are a few more accessorizing tips to get you on your way:
Use items of varied heights to keep the eye moving.  Have something short, something medium, and something tall.  Use stacked books to add height if needed.

Layer your accessories.  Don't be afraid to let your lamp cover a portion of the artwork.
Group differently shaped items together.  If everything is square/rectangle it just looks boring.
Add pops of color.
Elle Decor
Use unique items that mean something to you, such as something purchased from a trip.  These are great conversation starters, and will add a lot of character to your arrangement.

Project Reveal: Church Foyer Makeover

I apologize for being a little MIA on this blog lately!  Life has been busy lately working with local clients, my family visiting, & working on our newly purchased home.

Recently, I completed a project that I would like to share.  A local church hired me to help them redecorate their foyer area.  They wanted something new, fresh & modern that would go along with the existing paint, flooring, and lighting.

Here are the BEFORE photos:

This is what it looks like now!

Which color are you immediately drawn to?

Since I found this via Pinterest many of you may have already seen it. But for those of you who have not,  it's  Paper Source's Colorscope Chart.  I was drawn to the blues - mostly pool or lake.  There are definitely some qualities in each that would describe me.

What about you?  Is it right on, or completely off??
