New Baby & Blogging Break

Alright friends, time for my little baby girl to make her arrival :) I am being induced on Friday.
I'm so nervous to have two kids!  I often wonder how I am going to handle everything without losing my mind!  Even still, I know that I am so blessed to be able to welcome another little girl into our family.

I am going to take a break from blogging through the month of June.  Everyone have an awesome month!  Come back and visit in July!

    Congratulations on your baby girl. I hope you enjoy your time off and get in plenty of snuggle time with your sweet girls. Two is an adjustment, but I'm sure you will handle it marvelously!

    YAY! Good luck! It will take a while to get used to two, at least it has for me! but you will do great! Can't wait to see some pics of the new little one.

Sitting Room Design

 Hi there!  Today I am sharing a front living/sitting room that I am currently working on with a client. The process began by meeting at my client's home and seeing the space in person.  During the consultation, my client was able to tell me what she used the room for, how much seating she wanted, the look she wanted to achieve, her thoughts on possible color schemes, and what she envisioned for the space.  I asked some additional questions, and took pictures & measurements.  With those measurements I created a 2D and 3D floorplan for furniture placement, and then got her approval before proceeding any further. Once the basic floorplan was signed off on, I then began finding furniture pieces and decor for the space.  I came up 2 different options that are very similar but with a few varying pieces.  From those 2 she picked which one she liked best.  She chose the top picture! My Favorite Way to Hide Toys in My Family Room

We were is desperate need of something to hide toys in our family room.  In addition, I really needed something to go along the back our loveseat.  Below, is basically the view you get when you walk into our home.  I didn't want people to walk in & the first thing they see is the bare back of our loveseat. One day, I was meandering around TJ Maxx & spotted this cute storage ottoman.  Right away, I knew it needed to come home with me! It has proved to be a fantastic purchase for us!  My kids can easily get toys in & out of it.  It is also a very convenient place to sit & put your shoes on before heading out the door.  In addition, it can easily be moved around to the main sitting area if extra seating is ever needed. You KNOW you have made a good purchase when your husband has said TWICE, "Melissa, buying that ottoman was a really good idea."  Need some other ideas on how to hide toys?   Cute baskets/bo...
