How To Select the Right Lamp for An End Table

Lighting is very important to any room. With all the varying styles, it can be hard picking the right lamp for an end table. Here are a few tips you might find useful:

1 - Think of your lamp as part light, part sculpture/jewelry for the room. Your lamp needs to perform a function but should also look pretty!

2 - Think about what style you are going for. If your room is traditional, generally a tapered lamp shade tends to be a good option. If your room is modern, stick with a streamlined drum-shaped shade.

3 - Think about your lighting needs for the room. If you need a lot of light, don't pick a black (or really dark) shade, instead go with a lighter colored one to give off more light.

4 - Think about the scale of the table it will be sitting on. If you have a 'beefy' or heavy-looking end table, a small & delicate lamp most likely won't look right. Pick a lamp that is proportionate to the size of your end table and the surrounding furniture.

5- Don't be afraid to take home a few different lamps from the store. Keep the one that works and return the others! Just make sure you know the store's return policy!

We were is desperate need of something to hide toys in our family room. In addition, I really needed something to go along the back our loveseat. Below, is basically the view you get when you walk into our home. I didn't want people to walk in & the first thing they see is the bare back of our loveseat. Elegant Dining Room Makeover

I had the pleasure of helping a local client decorate their dining room. The space was pretty plain and lacked personality. I knew it had possibilities with those tall ceilings and beautiful arched windows. (Before) My client was very budget conscientious so I did not go over board on decor. I was very thoughtful of the decor I suggested and made sure the items we put in the space really made a 'wow' statement. This is the mood board I put together for my client to show the decor that I thought would look gorgeous in the space. My clients' liked everything, with exception of the chandelier. They were not in love with the one I selected and it was a little too expensive. As a replacement, I found this chandelier that I think was even more perfect for the space.
