For the Love of Pillows!

Can an interior designer get enough of beautiful pillows?  I don't think so!

Pillows are like jewelry for a room.  They add so much character, charm, interest to a space.

I am working on a new E-Design project and decided to select the pillows first and then begin piecing together the room from there.  I wanted to get my clients input on what she liked best so I put these 3 different pillow combinations together for her to pick from:

My client said she liked all three options, but decided to go with option #1!  Time to start selecting other items for the space!

  1. Glad to see you blogging again! Love the pillows you selected for your client. I get my chairs today (ivory) and table is on order from West Elm. I'll start looking for couch in January. Everything else is here. Will take a pic when it's all done. How is the baby?

How to Accessorize an End Table or Nightstand

Stuck on how to accessorize an end table or nightstand?
There are so many ways to style/accessorize a table, and really there are no rules. However, if you aren't sure where to begin below is a list of basic items to use that you can't go wrong with:
*A lamp * Artwork/mirror *Books * Floral/branches

In addition, here are a few more accessorizing tips to get you on your way:
Use items of varied heights to keep the eye moving.  Have something short, something medium, and something tall.  Use stacked books to add height if needed.

Layer your accessories.  Don't be afraid to let your lamp cover a portion of the artwork.

Group differently shaped items together.  If everything is square/rectangle it just looks boring.

Add pops of color.

Use unique items that mean something to you, such as something purchased from a trip.  These are great conversation starters, and will add a lot of character to your arrangement.

Which color are you immediately drawn to?

Since I found this via Pinterest many of you may have already seen it. But for those of you who have not,  it's  Paper Source's Colorscope Chart.  I was drawn to the blues - mostly pool or lake.  There are definitely some qualities in each that would describe me.

What about you?  Is it right on, or completely off??

Project Reveal: Church Foyer Makeover

I apologize for being a little MIA on this blog lately!  Life has been busy lately working with local clients, my family visiting, & working on our newly purchased home.

Recently, I completed a project that I would like to share.  A local church hired me to help them redecorate their foyer area.  They wanted something new, fresh & modern that would go along with the existing paint, flooring, and lighting.

Here are the BEFORE photos:

This is what it looks like now!
