My First Wreath Experiment

So, I made a wreath.  Weird.  This isn't the type of thing I usually do.  I've never made a wreath before, so I'm not sure what came over me.  Often times, the wreaths I see are cheesy and not really my thing...

...but for some reason I went to the craft store looking for supplies to make some sort of  a Thanksgiving Wreath.  I came home with a grape vine wreath, jute fabric, a silk flower, berries, and feathers.

I struggled because I didn't really like what I was coming up with as I began arranging the wreath:

Ultimately, this is what I ended up with:

 

I am actually pretty happy with it.  Do you think it could also be a Christmas Wreath?  I didn't get it put on my door until about a week ago, so I'd like to leave it up through December.  What do you think?

    Definitely Christmasy with the red berries. And you could change it seasonly by changing out the berries! Makes me want to try my hand at wreath making. I like how you showed the different alternatives you tried before selecting a final one as your design.

My Favorite Way to Hide Toys in My Family Room

We were is desperate need of something to hide toys in our family room.  In addition, I really needed something to go along the back our loveseat.  Below, is basically the view you get when you walk into our home.  I didn't want people to walk in & the first thing they see is the bare back of our loveseat. One day, I was meandering around TJ Maxx & spotted this cute storage ottoman.  Right away, I knew it needed to come home with me! It has proved to be a fantastic purchase for us!  My kids can easily get toys in & out of it.  It is also a very convenient place to sit & put your shoes on before heading out the door.  In addition, it can easily be moved around to the main sitting area if extra seating is ever needed. You KNOW you have made a good purchase when your husband has said TWICE, "Melissa, buying that ottoman was a really good idea."  Need some other ideas on how to hide toys?   Cute baskets/boxes , wall pockets (for books

Elegant Dining Room Makeover

I had the pleasure of helping a local client decorate their dining room.  The space was pretty plain and lacked personality.  I knew it had possibilities with those tall ceilings and beautiful arched windows. (Before) My client was very budget conscientious so I did not go over board on decor.  I was very thoughtful of the decor I suggested and made sure the items we put in the space really made a 'wow' statement. This is the mood board I put together for my client to show the decor that I thought would look gorgeous in the space. My clients' liked everything, with exception of the chandelier.  They were not in love with the one I selected and it was a little too expensive.  As a replacement, I found this chandelier that I think was even more perfect for the space.
